Oviedo, FL — Florida Lawyers Mutual Insurance Company this week announced that Carol P. Coady has been named Interim President, effective June 15th, 2026.
Coady previously served as Operations Manager for the company for more than 20 years, retiring in 2024. She succeeds Cathleen M. Sargent, Esq., who served served as Executive Vice President and COO from 2021-2022, and as the Company’s President & Chief Executive Officer since 2022.
During her previous tenure with the company, Ms. Coady performed numerous functions supporting the company. Ms. Coady handled all marketing functions, including relationship management with The Florida Bar and several Voluntary Bar Associations throughout the state. She was also responsible for managing HR administration, directing corporate governance functions, and leading major corporate operations projects. Among these, Ms. Coady was instrumental in overseeing the purchase of Florida Lawyers Mutual’s current headquarters building in Oviedo, FL.
Prior to joining Florida Lawyers Mutual in 2003, Ms. Coady developed an extensive background in the law, working as a Paralegal and Legal Assistant for multiple firms in Central Florida as well as Washington D.C. Her legal experience includes supporting practices across real estate, business law, insurance defense, and products liability litigation areas of practice.
