In Memorium

Like so many members of our statewide legal community, we mourn the loss of Alan Bookman. Alan served on the Florida Lawyers Mutual Board of Directors for 15 years, one of many chapters in his exceptional lifetime of service. Alan will be remembered as an excellent lawyer, an accomplished leader, a passionate philanthropist, an Army veteran, a past president of The Florida Bar, a gentleman, and a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. We will truly miss Alan, and we extend our thoughts and prayers to his family and all those who knew and loved him.
Mr. Bookman was a member of the firm Emmanuel, Sheppard & Condon, Pensacola, Florida, where he practiced from 1975 until his passing in December 2021. Mr. Bookman graduated from Tulane University (B.S. 1969, J.D. 1971) and served as President of The Florida Bar from June 2005 to June 2006. At the time of his passing, Mr. Bookman served as Chair of the IT Committee, Vice Chair of the Audit Committee, and a member of the Executive Committee, Investment Committee, Claims Committee, and Underwriting Committee on the Florida Lawyers Mutual Board of Directors. His service to our Company was invaluable and will long be remembered by all those who worked with him and by the member lawyers who elected him and whom he served.
